Victory [Oct. 12th, 2006|11:36 pm]
[mood | content]
[music |The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony]

So when they announced they were gonna put our hometowns/birthplaces on our new nametags for the "Year of a Million Dreams" at D-land, I put down "Hollywood" cuz it sounded cooler than "Rowland Heights." However, when people started saying they put fictional cities like Hill Valley, Sunnydale, and Alderaan (she put Alderaan, CA), I decided I needed a gamer-related city....

...and VICTORY!

I was a little worried, since they said they were trying to catch fake cities and change them to the default "Anaheim, CA," so I was very relieved to see it went through. XD I'll still have a Hollywood one made though, cuz that's still cool, LoL.

That Movie Quote Thing [Jun. 24th, 2006|08:15 am]
[mood | content]
[music |Robbie Williams - Man Machine]

1. Pick 11 of your favorite movies.
2. Then pick one of your favorite quotes from each movie.
3. Post the quotes in your journal.
4. Have those on your friends list guess what the movie is.
5. Either strike out the quote once it has been correctly identified or place the guesser's user name directly after the quote.
6. Extra points for knowing the actor or character's name.

Let's see if I know quotes from 11 Movies, LOL...these aren't all necessarily my faves, but they are all quotes that I know~

1. "Hey, James Bond, here in America we drive on the right side of the road."

(Clueless - Cher's brother mocking her driving "skills")

2. "...clever girl..."

(Jurassic Park - Right before Muldoon gets killed by the tricksy raptors)

3. "You jump, I jump."

(Titanic - what Rene said)

4. "He's a she--she's a she-she!!"

(Mrs. Doubtfire - what Kix said)

5. "She thinks the monkey is the sultan!"

(Aladdin - what Annie said)

6. "Where we're going we don't need roads."

(Back to the Future - what Annie said)

7. "I move for a vote of no confidence in the leadership of Chancellor Valorum."

(Star Wars Episode I - what Jason said, except QUEEN Amidala, LOL)

8. "You like pain? Try wearing a corset."

(Pirates of the Caribbean - Elizabeth Swan as she pummels some pirates)

9. "I said brr! It's cold in here. There must be some Toros in the atmosphere!"

(Bring it On - the Toros Cheerleaders' stolen cheer)

10. "I...I put my hands...over my head..."

(Men in Black - the evil alien, now in the body of a man, gets accosted by the MIB)

11. "KEVIN!"

(Home Alone (1 or 2) - Kevin's Mom realizing she forgot him)

LOL wow, some of those were weird...well have fun!

The Wizard [May. 24th, 2006|08:12 am]
[mood | content]
[music |Gin Blossoms - Hey Jealousy]

WOO HOO!! The Wizard is finally coming to DVD on August 29! XD

Yeah yeah, I'm sure the nostalgia goggles cloud the fact that the movie isn't very good, but it's an important part of a Nintendo-obsessed childhood. And who could forget "The girl from Rilo Kiley's near Nostradamus-ian knowledge of Super Mario Bros. 3 and its critical warp whistles." (from 1up) LOL

[mood | confused]
[music |New Found Glory - Singled Out]

So...have you ever had some event happen that made you rethink your whole life?

Recent events have led me to believe that I may actually like girls after all. o_O

I guess we'll see how things develop, but if it turns out true that would make the last seven years a waste, LOL.

And so the story goes... [Dec. 9th, 2005|06:26 pm]
[mood | content]
[music |Spice Girls - Christmas Wrapping]

Wednesday was my put-in day for Storyteller Training, meaning I would be telling my first story to the eager guests of Disneyland!

We got our outfits and changed into them, then began our day! Justin and Brandon were the others being trained with me, and Justin was set to do the 11:30 story with Aurora, I would do the 12:30 one with Belle, and Brandon would finish off with Snow White's 1:30 story.

Justin and I got started setting up the carpets and moving the displays, as well as putting aside our props for our stories. We went back to the breakroom to talk to our princesses and discuss how they did their stories and what to look out for. My story wasn't for a while, but since Belle happened to be there, I conferred with her a bit about how things would go.

My turn rolled around, and after going over a little bit of it with Belle, we were off to the Princess Shoppe to tell the story. I was quite nervous, but I didn't feel unprepared, so when I finally burst through the curtain singing the Walt Disney logo theme, I was ready. It went really well, as I got plenty of laughs for everything funny I put out there, especially my experimental one-liners.

For the finale, sometimes Belle likes to make the Beast do random stuff as he transforms, all like "Then he spun around really fast, and started doing push-ups!" and us Storytellers have to comply to keep things flowing and comedic. So Belle first made me spin really fast, then I tap danced, then sang a love song (and I sang "Lovin' you, is easy cuz you're beautiful~ AaaaaaaAaah~!"), then did a horrendous attempt at the worm, LOL. It was all good though, cuz it was hilarious for all.

So the story ended, and I was satisfied with my performance. The crowd control afterward was a different matter, however. I did an okay job organizing everyone into a line, but overall it could've been better because it was still a little unruly. Not that it was a surprise really, guest control was never my strong suit.

As I watched the line and whatnot, a girl of about seven years came up to me and was all "I think you're funny, can you sign my autograph book?" and I was happy. XD No better compliment than that, I say!

Overall, awesome day, and I can't wait until I actually get my first full day in it! XD

A New Frontier [Nov. 20th, 2005|07:34 pm]
[mood | content]
[music |Kingdom Hearts - One Winged Angel (from Final Fantasy VII)]

Today was a pretty regular Green Army Day, except that my random day shift before the Pre-Show was cool~ My other army guy wanted to be Br'er Bear, and they made me the host to watch over him and stuff. Normally I wouldn't be too happy about hosting, but we were in Frontierland so I got to wear the sexy new costumes they have! XD

Since I'm not host-approved I didn't think I'd ever do it, but being randomly thrust into it made my day! I was sad to take it off, LOL... especially the hat. =B

I ran into Leah in the middle of the day, and we took a pic to commemorate my cool outfit. =D

Game Music [Nov. 15th, 2005|08:13 pm]
[mood | content]
[music |Madonna - I Love New York]

Yay~ I am sharing the love of video game music at work! XD

A week ago, one of my leads asked me what I listened to on my iPod all the time, and I told him "Everything, like from video game music to rock to pop..." and he was like "Video game music?!" and I elaborated. He then asked me to burn him an mp3 CD of some of my stuff, specifically the NES and SNES stuff.

So today I gave it to him, and he popped it into the DVD player in the breakroom and listened, LOL. Dr. Mario music came up first, and he was so excited by it, which made me happy, LoL. =D Mission successful!

Additionally, when my phone was ringing with the Mega Man 2 theme today, someone was all "Heck yeah! ...heck yeah!!!" when they heard it, LOL. =B

You are all-around smart. Essentially, that means that you are a good combination of your own knowledge and experience, along with having learned through instruction - and you are equally as good with theoretical things as you are with real-world, applied things. You have a well-rounded brain.

You're Beautiful~ (Jason Mraz Concert) [Nov. 8th, 2005|10:27 pm]
[mood | content]
[music |Final Fantasy X - Seymour Battle]

On Sunday I went to another concert (this time Jason Mraz), and boy was it awesome! The whole experience was amazingly fun, mostly because of the people I went with~

I went with some work friends, Alex, Miles, Jordan, and Jen, and we had a blast! We sang Jason Mraz songs at the top of our lungs on the way, and our energy was really high!

We got to the concert, and James Blunt was the opening act. He was really great, giving me a really good first impression of his work. I made a mental note to check out his stuff later, for although sometimes depressing, it was really quality work.

Finally Jason Mraz came on, and he was amazing! He sang all my favorites, save for "Wordplay" which was surprisingly not on the playlist. His performance was just so awesome, and he showed off his talents by rapping, singing (even in French for part of "The Remedy"!), and even singing operatically! A couple of fun things were when he had all of us in the upper sections open our cell phones to act as stars for "Bella Luna," and when we all sang the beginning to "Wonderwall" as an audience during the bridge of "The Remedy."

After the concert we headed off to eat at Mel's Diner on Hollywood and Highland, although at first we went in the totally opposite direction for like 10 minutes, LOL. It was okay though, because we were listening to the James Blunt CD which Jordan bought during intermission! We attempted to sing along to the songs which we didn't really know, mostly making up our own lyrics, LOL.

Miles, Jen, Alex, Jordan, and me!

We had dinner at Mel's, then went back to K-lot to go to our cars~ It was an amazing night, and one I won't soon forget!
